About School

       This School was established on 05 July 1982 as a middle school in the Parasram Nagar area of Bathinda city. Government of Punjab, department of School Education upgraded this institute to a High School in May 1987. With efforts and hard work of the teachers and the progress made by the students in academics and social spheres, there was an increase in the strength of students being enrolled in the school and, in 1989 this school was upgraded to a senior secondary school.

       During the Kargil war, alumni of this school S. Sandeep Singh, who was serving with the Indian Army,made the supreme sacrifice on 02 Aug 1999. To honour the supreme sacrifice of the son of soil, the Punjab Government rechristened this school as Shaheed Sipahi Sandeep Singh School of Eminence, Paras Ram Nagar Bathinda.

       This school has always kept pace with the modernization of infrastructure and installed computer education in the school for all the students. The school has always witnessed an increase in the students’ enrolment with every session. In the academic session 2017-18, there were 1161 students in classes 6th to 12th. In the previous session (2020-21), the number of students from 6th to 12th rose to 2622.

       With the efforts of school education department and school Principal, S. Gurmail Singh Sidhu a beautiful fivestory building was constructed.Now it has been designated as an institute of excellence and has been transformed into a smart school which is equipped with beautiful furniture, smart-boards, LED overhead-projectors, CCTV cameras, central sound system, indoor games, smart class rooms, modern science laboratories, digitized library with Tablets, and other facilities for the students.

       The school has seen the highest jump in the number of students in all the streams of studies, be it- Arts, Science, Humanities, Commerce, Vocational and NSQF trades. The medium of instruction in the school is Punjabi with an option of English also. The school caters to the educational needs of students from the city and neighbouring villages.
